Meta announced Muse on September 8, 2026 as a personal agent that acts on goals you give it in plain language. You message it like a person and it does the work across apps and the web, with you approving sensitive steps.
- Give a goal and Muse plans the steps across apps, files, and browsing. It moves beyond answering to taking action.
- Core actions include sending email, booking travel, shopping and checkout, filling forms, summarizing documents, creating artifacts such as PDFs and spreadsheets, and scheduling reminders.
- It works in the background after you close the app and returns when it needs approval or when something changes.
- It runs on Muse Spark and is reached through the Muse app, muse.ai on the web, or directly in WhatsApp. You can watch what it does in its browser view.
- Skills such as podcast creation, image generation, research, and document creation activate automatically when needed.
Where it is available
Muse launched as a United States-only consumer product for adults. Meta says broader availability will follow, but no dates are published.

- Available to people 18 or older, or the age of majority in the local country. Sign in with a Meta Account created via Facebook, Instagram, email, or phone.

Who it is for
Muse is built for everyday people who want to hand off personal tasks and small projects. It is separate from developer tools for building with models.
- For individuals managing email, calendar, shopping, travel, health, smart home, and personal files. Chat in the Muse app or WhatsApp and connect only the services you choose.
- For delegated work where you set boundaries and approve consequential actions. You choose which apps it can read, whether it can send, and when it must ask.
- For developers, build with Muse Spark through the Meta Model API. That is a hosted model endpoint for code and product integration, not the consumer agent.
What are its limitations
Muse extends what an agent can do on your behalf. Every extension adds conditions you should understand before you connect accounts.
- Availability is US-only at launch. If you are outside the US, you cannot use it yet.
- Mistakes happen. The Help Center states the agent may be inaccurate or take unexpected actions. You should control what it can access and review the Activity log and Upcoming tasks.
- Prompt injection is an open problem across the industry. Hidden instructions inside pages, emails, or files can try to steer the agent away from your intent.
- Custom connectors carry user risk. Meta does not review custom connectors or how they use your information. Review provider terms and grant with care.
- Long browser tasks can stall or need intervention. You can stop some actions, but sending an email cannot be undone. Keep approvals set to a comfortable level.
Ways to limit risk while you learn:
- Start with low-risk tasks and read-only access where offered, such as reading mail before allowing send.
- Connect only the services needed for the task. Disconnect what you no longer use.
- Set permissions to ask before write actions and unfamiliar site visits.
- Use the Activity log and task details to verify what it did.
- Manage memories and opt out of training use if you prefer.
How much does it cost
Muse is free to start with a weekly usage limit.
- Free tier has a weekly limit. If you reach it, upgrade or wait until it refreshes.
- Power at $20 per month raises the allowance to 500M Muse tokens per week.
- Maximum at $100 per month raises the allowance to 3B Muse tokens per week.
- Usage is measured in Muse tokens per week. Exact benefits appear during onboarding.
- A payment method is requested to start, and the app shows a usage meter.
